CLK

I’m 27 and live in the great state of Kansas. We’re not all farmers here, but we know how to do country.

I tend to go with the flow. I am a good person most of the time, and I care about people. But life wouldn’t be any fun without a little danger. Occasionally I am called a bitch, but I chalk it up to being a strong, stubborn woman and other people not being able to handle it. I don’t have some uncontrollable desire to impress people.

Sometimes I tend to be emotional, and this blog is usually my outlet for that. I have a bad habit of being one of those bottie-it-up type of people. Forgive me for any crybaby posts.

Reading is my favorite hobby, when I can find the time to, and photography is a close runner up. It’s wonderful to see the world through the eye of a lens sometimes. Writing is a passion. I love putting words on paper. I once wanted to be a great novelist, until I realized I wasn’t very good at it. So I switched my focus to media, and went to school for media writing/publishing and public relations instead. I graduated with a BA in May 2009.

“Why the wheelchair?” you ask. Car wreck. 2003. Broken neck and fucked spinal cord. Paralysis. Even as much as I hate this injury, it has also given me more strength and opportunities than I ever could have imagined. I have met people, gone places, and done things that I never would have if I had not been in that car wreck, so for that, I am thankful.

All in all, my life is pretty terrific. I am surrounded by great people, and if you read often enough, you’ll probably get to know them too.

    1. very well written

  11. Passion. So many people miss it. Too many people go without it. You have it. Please don’t ever know why you do.

  12. Carrie you are so talented with your writing and photography. Love the blog and I see you being published someday with your poetry. Your words are special, important and thought provoking can’t ask for anything more.

  13. You have a beautiful blog, and you are a very talented writer. I have to agree with ‘Dude’ regarding the passion. I often lose sight of what I’m passionate about, my views become foggy on my direction and I forget what I’m truly doing, if that makes any sense (doubt it does). I know I can learn a lot from you — reading through your blog, you make me think and ponder, and I like and appreciate that, so consider me a new follower.

  14. hi, great blog! I was surfing the blogosphere and stumbled on yours. I wanted to leave a note…. well i just did! I’ll stick around see what happen.

  15. I’m pleased to have discovered your blog… thank you for sharing your process of living! :)

  16. Your words make one want to be ever thankful for all that one has. You are quite the optimist and all the more venerable for that aspect.

  17. Do you ever do guest blog exchange posts?

  18. Hi Carrie! You have a wonderful blog and absolutely fantastic photos. I work for a company called Gardner Glass Products and each Friday we do a little blog post dealing with colors and color palettes. This week’s post will be focused on flowers, and I was wondering if we could feature this magnolia photo on our blog:

Photo credit would be given to you and the photograph would be linked directly back to your blog. Thanks for the consideration and a have a great day!

  19. Hi Carrie,

I work for the company that produces Mutual of Omaha’s ‘aha moment’ campaign; check out http://www.mutualofomaha.com/aha to see what an aha moment is and the incredible stories we’ve filmed over the last several years. As I came across your website, I couldn’t help but think that you might have an aha moment to share.

For the 4th year, we’re taking our 34-foot Airstream mobile film studio on the road again for the 2013 aha moment tour, visiting 20 cities across America to capture inspirational, life-changing aha moments from folks all over the country. We stopped in Topeka on the 2011 tour, and we loved it so much that we’re coming back! We are headed to Topeka, KS on July 15th and 16th and would love to invite you to share an aha moment, and how your life has changed since. It can be about your work, your family or other life experiences. You would just have to step into the Airstream studio for a few minutes and tell your story on film to our tour producer. Your video will then be posted to http://www.mutualofomaha.com/aha, where you will be able to share it with your friends and family via email, Facebook and Twitter!

This is the 2nd aha moment tour for Kait Ebinger, our tour producer. Kait hails from California, but she’s at home on the road and enjoys talking about powerful life moments with people just like you all over the country. She’ll be in the Airstream and listening to each and every aha moment.

On July 15th and 16th from 10am to 6pm, we will be parked at Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library, 1515 SW 10th Ave Topeka, KS 66604. Here is a link to the parking location on Google maps: http://goo.gl/maps/XFKLt

Let me know as soon as possible and I can reserve some time for you.

    Many thanks!
