I’ve been horrible at blogging. Horrible!

You know when you don’t think life could possibly get any busier and your body couldn’t be any more worn out? Well, it can be busier and you can get worn even further. I tend to jinx myself with things like that.

We’ve been spending a lot of time on the boat, and the color of my skin shows it. I’m getting so dark (and my white legs are a little bit red). It’s fun, and with the 100 to 105° weather every single day for the past few weeks, the lake is welcoming.

I can’t promise I’ll be better at blogging, but I do promise to try.

+ hang out with my G. Maybe on the boat?
+ read The Night Circus.
+ stay cool. This heat is beyond ridiculous.
+ get blog posts ready for the week.
+ Script School. More about it later.
+ baby my wheelchair. The stress over this thing is overwhelming me.
+ design a print form for an upcoming team shoot.

wedding wednesday: colors

Yellows and grays. I love this combo so much. I always have, and I love it for our wedding. Yellow kind of fits us. We’re happy and cheerful and have that “bright” thing going on when we’re together. The gray? It’s just my favorite neutral color and goes with my sunshiny yellow pretty perfectly. There will also be some cream splashed around–a lacy cream.

Things are coming together nicely all around. I have been working on invite designs and RSVP cards, and I’m almost happy with how they look. It’s going to be tough to wait on printing those babies out once I get them done.

Next, the food and cake and decor and clothes and ahhh, all of it!

project life: week 27

Oh, week 27 was busy. Family from all over came for the 4th so I have far more pictures than I can possibly put into this spread (or 10 inserts for that matter).

I tried to keep it simple, as usual, but I am also getting away from the “this week” card I was journaling on for a while in a 4×6 pocket. It took away from the picture aspect, I think. So I am doing more small 3×4 pockets for journaling. It keeps things a bit more balanced.

Next week, I’ll have an insert, I’m sure, since we’ll be heading to Table Rock Lake again with Grant and Shannon. Let’s hope for sunny days and good camera batteries.

Oh, Friday!

I hope everyone had a great Fourth of July. I know we did. Tuesday night I went to Greg’s sister’s house and watched the Turner fireworks with his family. They are so fun and easy to be around. On Wednesday, we had a family get together at my brother’s house and lit fireworks and ate good food. I will post more pictures from yesterday’s festivities when I get time.

Today: I am working on what feels like a Tuesday. And then I’m catching up on blogs and cards after work. I’ll post pictures of the new cards I have soon, but they won’t be up in the shop for a little while. I also ordered three more new stamps. I’m on this kick of designing stamps and using them in my projects. Not that I don’t love everyone else’s stamps (because if I had tons of money to spend, that’s probably what I would spend it on), but I just like the feeling of making my own. I’ll get pics of those as soon as I get them.

June brought the heat, but definitely not enough rain. It brought many laughs and good times and an engagement (Congrats Lindsay and Todd!). But July is here, and summer is in full swing. There is a lot of talk of boats, sunburns, humidity, and scorching 100 degree afternoons.

I managed to get most of my goals met for June, but there always seems to be some straggling goals leftover somewhere, spilling out for another month. I need to learn to look at the small things that make a whole goal and go for those, I guess. Simplicity.

July goals:
– blog 3x per week. I’ve been sporadic at times lately.
– make a first draft of guest list
– get trailer off land (there’s the straggler goal)
– finish a book. Chuck Palahniuk’s Lullaby is the main one I’m reading right now.
– catch up on me time. A day to myself.
– make Etsy a priority. I need to get back to that.
